After two straight defeats, Hearts of Oak spared themselves a third successive loss with a late goal to draw 1-1 at home to Legon Cities at Accra Sports Stadium Sunday night.
Manaf Umar spurned a chance to shoot the Phobians in front when he missed a penalty in the 16th minute.
Legon Cities then punished the hosts after a superb switch of play from Nasiru Moro found a fighting Jonah Attuquaye who outwitted Nuru Sulley and saw his first shot blocked by goalkeeper Richard Attah before ensuring the goal with a second effort on 20 minutes.
Hearts fought back but could only salvage the point through a brilliant finish from Kwadwo Obeng Junior in the 86th minute.
