VIDEO: Gyasi brace inspires Spezia comeback draw with Parma

Ghanaian-Italian forward, Emmanuel Gyasi notched a superb brace as Spezia Calcio hit back from two goals behind to force a 2-2 draw at home with Parma in the Italian Serie A Saturday afternoon.

The visitors put themselves into an early lead scoring twice inside the first 25 minutes of the relegation tussle at Stadio Alberto Picco.

Although Spezia dominated early on, it was Parma who broke the deadlock with a wonderful strike. Yann Karamoh sprinted down the right, cut back inside Simone Bastoni and fired a left-footed rocket into the far top corner from a tricky angle.

Ivan Provedel had his gloves stung by Valentin Mihaila in a similar move moments later, and Parma doubled their lead with a Juan Brunetta free-kick into the six-yard box finding Hernani Júnior at full stretch to just graze his studs to send it under the goalkeeper.

Come the second half, Gyasi – who is knocking on the doors of the Black Stars – led a spirited Spezia fightback.

Midfielder Giulio Maggiore controlled the ball down the right, juggled it forward and whipped in the cross and Gyasi just had to prod it over the line from a couple of yards in the 52nd minute.

Spezia’s pressure paid off in the 72nd minute after M’Bala Nzola saw his volley charged down, the move continued and Verde put a ball low and hard into the six-yard box from the left, where Gyasi was again ready to tap in.

The brace for Emmanuel Gyasi – who lasted the game – takes him to four goals while having four assists in 24 outings in his debut season in the Italian Serie A.
