Daniel Lomotey might just be the scout ES Sétif need in beating Asante Kotoko to the slot for the 2020/21 Caf Confederation Cup group stage.
The former WAFA forward joined the Algerian club on a three-year deal and is elated to face the Porcupines.
“I feel very happy that I will play against Kotoko.
“It’s a great feeling to play against them at such level and it will be my first time playing in Africa,” he told Oyerepa FM.
“I have all the documentation to make me eligible sorted as well.”
Lomotey, who left after nine games in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League after scoring eight goals, says his mates have been asking about Kotoko.
“They have been asking me about Kotoko and I have realized the kind of respect they have for the team.
“Apart from the information they are soliciting from me, they have also been monitoring and researching about Kotoko.
“Even though I didn’t play for Kotoko, I have played against them and know them in a way. I hope that one day I will be playing for Kotoko too,” he added.
Against Sétif, Asante Kotoko need to win to seal qualification to the group stages of the Confederation Cup.
Kotoko host the first leg of the playoffs in Accra on February 14 before travelling to Algeria for the reverse scheduled for the 21st.
