Mumuni Sokpari named head coach of Togo’s Unisport de Sokodé

Ghana’s Abubakar Mumuni Sokpari has been appointed substantive coach by Togolese topflight side Unisport de Sokodé.

The former Wa All Stars (now Legon Cites) trainer replaces Abdel-Aziz Sibabi Akpo who left for Benin Pro League side Panthères de Djougou.

Sokpari – the Caf License A holder – left the shores of Ghana to take up a job in Somalia with topflight side Elman FC in September 2018.

Last year, he moved on to become the assistant coach for Unisport and helped them qualify for the Caf Confederation Cup after ending the Togolese season in second place.

Unisport, however, got eliminated in the preliminary round by Cameroonian side Coton Sport de Garoua.
