Kotoko vs Hearts #GPLwk14 clash moved to February 28

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the rescheduling of two league games involving Asante Kotoko.

The Porcupine Warriors – who sit third in the standings – are poised to visit Karela United on match-day 13 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League come Sunday, February 7.

But their subsequent fixtures against Hearts of Oak and King Faisal will not come off on their originally scheduled February 14 and 21 dates.

This is as a result of a clash in the fixture dates with Kotoko’s continental campaign.

Having dropped from the Caf Champions League to the group stage playoffs of the Confederation Cup, the Ghanaian giants are due to battle out with Algeria’s ES Sétif.

And the dates for the Sétif home-and-away tie coincide with that of Kotoko’s GPL games at home to Kotoko and away at Faisal, forcing the GFA to reschedule the domestic fixtures.

“As a result, the match between Asante Kotoko and rivals Hearts of Oak as well as King Faisal versus Asante Kotoko have been rescheduled.

Asante Kotoko’s match-day 14 tie against Hearts of Oak will now come off on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Accra sports stadium while the match-day 15 contest against King Faisal takes place on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman,” parts of a GFA announcement read.

The two-time African champions will host ES Sétif in the Caf Confederation Cup playoffs first-leg encounter in Accra on Valentine’s day.

Revised schedule –

  • Kotoko vs ES Sétif – February 14 (Caf CC)
  • ES Sétif vs Kotoko – February 21 (Caf CC)
  • Kotoko vs Hearts – February 28 (GPL)
  • King Faisal vs Kotoko – March 10 (GPL)
