Up to 6,000 fans are to be allowed into the Accra Sports Stadium when Asante Kotoko host ES Sétif in the 2020/21 Caf Confederation Cup playoffs first-leg on Sunday, February 14.
This is according to a decision by Africa’s football governing body, Caf.
The Porcupine Warriors had written to request to – under strict observation of all COVID-19 safety protocols – be allowed an attendance of 25% fans inside the 40,000-capacity Accra stadium as permitted by the Government of Ghana for domestic competitions.
However, Caf, in its response to Kotoko, slashed the Ghanaian giants’ request and sanctioned that only 15% – representing 6,000 spectators – can attend the match.
Both clubs, as well as appointed match officials, have been communicated to with the Caf decision.
Kotoko host Sétif at 15:00 GMT on Sunday and will travel to face the Algerians for the second leg a week later.
The aggregate winner of this tie secures a ticket in the group stage of the 2020/21 Caf Confederation Cup competition.
