Aduana Stars beat Great Olympics 2-1 to record their second victory on matchday 7 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
After a barren first half, it was Maxwell Quaye who came off the bench to break the deadlock for Olympics after 51 minutes of play at the Nana Agyeman Badu (NAB) 1 Stadium.
Aduana responded strongly after going down and equalized through Flavio Jean Kongoza.
With few minutes to end the encounter, second-half substitute Emmanuel Osei Baffour was brought down for a penalty.
And Yahaya Mohammed struck the much-needed lead from the spot to help the Fire Boys claim victory.
In seven games, Aduana have recorded draws in four games this season – against King Faisal, Bechem United, Eleven Wonders and Berekum Chelsea. The titleholders travel to Tarkwa for a tough clash with Medeama in their next league game.
For Oylmpics, the Aduana defeat is their second this season. They lost to Liberty Professionals 2-0 on matchday 3 but they have not fared poorly in their outings. They drop to 6th position with 11 points and have Aduana just behind a point less. Next, they welcome AshantiGold at the Accra Sports Stadium.
