Too early: Rashid Seidu not entertaining Inter Allies relegation talk

Inter Allies goalkeeper, Rashid Seidu says it is early days to mark the club for relegation.

The Capelli Boys have had a jerky start to the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League with nine matches played.

Seated 16th on the league table with 7 points, it looks increasingly difficult for Allies to climb up the ladder but Rashid Seidu is optimistic of the side’s survival.

“I think it is too early to talk about who will be the runner-up and who will go on relegation.

“This is because we have played nine out of 34 matches. So a lot will happen along the line.

“It’s just that we not scoring goals and I think we are all doing our possible best – the playing body and the management is also helping us to counter that.

“We will see changes soon and we will see the team winning games,” the shot-stopper told Footy-Ghana.com’s Adamu Muftawu.

The 25-year-old is however concerned about the poor run of form in the ongoing season.

Allies last fell to a 2-0 defeat to Great Olympics in a home game at the Accra Sports Stadium to further plunge them down the log.

Rashid said: “So far I can’t say I’m worried but I’m concerned as a player who is playing for a brand like Inter Allies and wants to keep the brand of the club and the image of myself. So definitely I’m concerned.

“Times like these also bring the best in players.

“These moments will bring the best out of me because I will work a lot, I will concentrate a lot, I will do everything right to make things happen.

“I’m not frustrated though but I am concerned and hopeful that we will come out of these,” Seidu added.

The former Wa All Stars, Bechem United and AS Douanes goalkeeper is confident the Eleven-Is-to-One Boys will come good in the remaining games.

“I think anytime a team is struggling or not scoring, that’s the time the puts everything in to bring out changes.

“I think in the remaining games, we are so sure we will start scoring and things will change from there,” he noted.
