Bechem United scored thrice in the closing 12 minutes to secure a 3-1 turnaround victory over Eleven Wonders in a 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 11 regional derby at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park Friday afternoon.
Samuel Boakye put the visitors in front, but the Hunters earned the victory thanks to goals from Emmanuel Boakye, Hafiz Konkoni and Listowel Amankona.
Wonders took a deserved lead after 19 minutes of play when Ashittey Ollenu’s cutback found Samuel Boakye to tuck home with his left foot from close range.
Bechem trailed until they won a penalty late in the second half when the ball struck the hand of defender Tetteh Nortey in his own box.
Substitute Emmanuel Boakye elected himself and expertly converted from the spot to level the scoring in the 78th minute.
Striker Hafiz Konkoni then put Bechem 2-1 up with a brilliant finish from the edge of the box in the 84th minute – his third goal this season.
Another substitute, Listowel Amankona completed the brilliant fight-back victory with a header from a corner kick a minute from time.
The 3-1 victory sees Bechem United end a four-game winless run and temporarily sends them top of the GPL table with 19 points.
