Great Olympics midfielder, Gladson Awako is open to playing for Asante Kotoko despite being a supporter of sworn rivals Hearts of Oak.
The 30-year-old has been exciting since the start of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League campaign and has been linked with a move to the Porcupine Warriors in the second round.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Awako did not shy away from the fact that he has been a staunch fan of arch-rivals Hearts of Oak but insisted he is willing to join Kotoko and play his heart out should there be a transfer agreement with current club Olympics.
“I have always been a Hearts fan. Even when we were in the academy at Goldfields I supported Hearts,” he stated.
“Playing for Kotoko won’t be an issue. Emmanuel Osei Kufuor was a Kotoko fan but always excelled against them so I wouldn’t mind playing for them.
“If an offer comes and it is good for Olympics and myself,” the former TP Mazembe star added.
Gladson Awako scored his side’s only goal in the 3-1 loss to AshantiGold on Sunday.
