Ghana-born Portuguese forward Asumah Abubakar has completed a transfer to Swiss Super League side FC Lugano.
The 23-year-old signed a two-and-half-year contract Monday, brining an end to his 18-month stay at second-tier side SC Kriens
The deal includes an option for a further season.
“FC Lugano announce the signing of Portuguese striker Asumah Abubakar from Ghana with a contract valid until 30.06.2023 (with option for a further season),” a club statement read.
During his stint with SC Kriens, Abubakar scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists in 47 matches.
He arrived in Switzerland after playing in the Netherlands with Willem II and MVV Maastricht.
Asumah Abubakar, who also boasts two appearances and a goal with the Portuguese U19 national team, was recently named best player of the 2020 Challange League alongside Davide Callà and Petar Pusic.
