Basit Abdul Khalid: Espérance sign Ghanaian striker until 2023

Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis have completed the signing of Ghanaian Basit Abdul Khalid.

The 24-year-old is a striker who previously played for Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC before leaving on a free transfer in July 2016 to FC Prishtina of Kosovo where he began his European career.

Basit moved on to Albanian side KF Teuta in summer 2019 for one season before landing in Macedonia with Makedonija Gjorce Petrov last summer.

He scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists in 14 games in the 2020/21 season and courted the attention of the four-time African champions who have been desperate to bolster their misfiring attacking line.

On Monday, Espérance completed a deal with Basit who has now committed to a two-and-a-half-year contract.
