King Faisal have fired head coach Slaviša Božičić due to their abysmal showing in the ongoing 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
Speculations that the Serbian was on his way out swirled after Faisal’s humiliating defeat at AshantiGold in mid-week.
He went on to supervise the side’s latest defeat at home to Hearts of Oak on Saturday and the following day, the management of the club announced his departure.
A club statement indicated that “Slavisa has been relieved of his duties” with the entire “technical team dissolved” as well.
After six matches in the 20202/21 Ghana Premier League, King Faisal are second from the bottom of the 18-team log with 4 points.
The 54-year-old who joined King Faisal prior to the start of the 2019/20 season’s tenure saw the Kumasi-based club win just once in 19 games with 11 defeats.
King Faisal, whose bankroller Alhaji Gruzah is known for his preference for hiring expatriate coaches, are said to be leaning towards appointing a local man this time around.
