HIGHLIGHTS: Fabio Gama debuts in Medeama-Kotoko stalemate

42 days after arriving in the country, Brazilian Fabio Gama finally made his debut for Asante Kotoko as a second-half substitute in a 1-1 draw at Medeama SC in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The playmaker, who was signed as a free agent after leaving Swedish side Jönköpings Södra IF in March this year, came on in the 81st minute replacing Godfred Asiamah.

Gama’s debut was delayed due to fitness and work permit issues – of which the latter was only resolved just last week.

Kotoko were 1-0 up courtesy a 76th minute strike by Kwame Opoku but they let slip the lead in the dying embers of the game as they conceded a penalty which got converted by their former striker Abass Mohammed on the 90th. Watch match highlights below.

Fabio Gama will be hoping for another minutes under his belt on January 6 when the Porcuoine Warriors travel to face Al-Hilal of Sudan in the second leg of their Caf Champions League second preliminary round tie.
