Ghana’s Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea has been confirmed to officiate the 2020/21 Caf Champions League second preliminary round first-leg between Niger’s AS Sondiep and title holders Al Ahly SC of Egypt.
Sondiep host the nine-time winners as they begin their title defence at Stade Général Seyni Kountché in Niamey on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
Referee Laryea will be assisted by three other countrymen – Paul Kodzo Atimaka and Kwasi Acheampong Brobbey who are to flank the 33-year-old on the lines as Assistant Referees I and II respectively.
Another Ghanaian, Abdul Latif Adaari is to act as the Fourth Official.
Alim Konate Aboubakar from Cameroon will be the Match Commissioner while Nigerien Adamou Tchiouake serves as COVID-19 Officer.
Sixteen (16) matches are scheduled to take place in the second preliminary round with the aggregate winners qualifying for the group stage of the 2020/21 Caf Champions League while the losers drop to the Confederation Cup play-offs.
