MoYS pays Black Queens 2015 and 2016 outstanding debts

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) has settled the outstanding bonuses of the Black Queens dating back to 2015 and 2016.

The  Ghana women’s senior national side were owed for their participation and becoming the ultimate winners in the All Africa Games football competition held in Congo.

After their success in 2015, the side also finished third at the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Cameroun.

Subsequent tournaments have seen the Queens fall short of success after their triumph in the 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations.

In 2018, Ghana failed to progress from the group stage of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations despite being hosts.

In 2019, they finished third after beating Mali 8-7 on penalties after a barren draw in the third-place match.

The Ministry also assured that all other teams including coaches who are owed bonuses will be paid in due time.
