Legon Cities: Fatau Dauda ready to hand armband to Asamoah Gyan

Legon Cities captain, Fatau Dauda says he will not hesitate to hand over the armband to new signing Asamoah Gyan.

The Ghana national team legend completed a move to the Royals on transfer deadline day for one year.

Fatau respects Gyan’s pedigree and is ready to be his deputy captain when the season starts on November 13.

“I will not hesitate to relinquish my captaincy to Asamoah Gyan. I don’t need the management of Legon Cities to tell me that.

“He’s my senior and I need to give him that respect unless he doesn’t want it. I will give him the band anytime he’s on the pitch,” he told Oyerepa FM.

Gyan reacted on Twitter:

Legon Cities have made some fine signings ahead of the season.

Aduana Stars midfielder Elvis Opoku, Baba Mahama formerly of Kotoko, Matthew Anim Cudjoe and Jonas Attuquaye have all joined the Royals.

They begin their quest for a top-four finish this season against Berekum Chelsea.
