Kotoko lose Mudasiru Salifu to 4th metatarsal injury
Porcupines to miss key player ahead of season opener against Eleven Wonders
Asante Kotoko midfielder Mudasiru Salifu has sustained a fracture of the fourth metatarsal during pre-season.
The injury blow to the club and 23-year-old central midfielder comes just about nine days to the start of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
Salifu is expected to be one of the key elements to drive Kotoko’s rhythm following his spectacular performances for the club last season.
This injury is likely to sideline Salifu for at least six weeks – thus he may not feature in any of the Porcupine Warriors’ league games for the rest of the year.
Kotoko have confirmed the terrible development to coach Maxwell Konadu’s plans:
Our warrior Mudasiru Salifu, has been ruled out of action for few weeks after he suffered an injury to the 4th metatarsal.

In other news, midfielder Martin Antwi – who was reported to have been told to look elsewhere – remains at Kotoko and has been spotted training with the side since returning to Kumasi from a 20-day camp in Koforidua.
