It was tough at the start – Sadat Karim after Halmstad renewal

Ghana forward Sadat Karim is happy to have signed a contract extension with Halmstad BK for the next two seasons.

After some recent fine performances, coach Magnus Haglund decided Sadat is a key player for the team’s campaigns.

Speaking on the new deal, the former Hearts of Oak player revealed how tough it was for him when he arrived at the club.

“I am very happy to continue here and it is the biggest club I have played for in Sweden. I feel very good and it is an honor to play for Halmstads Bollklubb.

“It was tough for me at the beginning of the season when the team performed well and also had two good forwards.

“I decided to be patient and wait for my chance, so I worked hard on training and tried to help the team that way.

“Then it was important to always be prepared when the opportunity should arise and it did. I’m very happy to stay here.”

Sadat Karim has on his thirteen starts, and twelve from the bench accounted for no less than fourteen times. Nine assists and five goals, of which four goals were in the last three matches.

Halmstad BK are very close to securing promotion to the Swedish topflight. They need three points from their final three games in the Superettan to gain automatic qualification to the 2021 Allsvenskan.
