2020/21 #GPLwk1: Goalkeeper Issah earns Dwarfs 2-2 draw with Sharks

Goalkeeper Razak Issah came to the rescue of Ebusua Dwarfs as he hit home a late free-kick to deny Elmina Sharks the bragging rights in their season-opening Coastal derby Sunday afternoon.

The Mysterious club had looked completely beaten after allowing the visitors to rally from behind to lead them 2-1 in the regional derby marking the start of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League at Cape Coast Stadium.

Denis Korsah gave Dwarfs the lead in the 20th minute.

But winger Richard Mpong responded with the equalizer four minutes from the break.

Sharks continued from where they left towards halftime and got their lead through skipper Ishmael Hammond quite early – the 54th minute.

Coach Yaw Acheampong’s side held the 2-1 lead up to the 85th minute.

Then came up ambitious goalkeeper Razak Issah to snatch a point for Dwarfs from the jaws of defeat. He brilliantly converted a free-kick from near the Sharks penalty area, pegging the scores at 2-2.

And that’s how the thrilling regional derby ended.
