Berekum Chelsea captain Zackaria Fuseini has joined San Fernando CD for the 2020/21 season in the Spanish lower tier.
The “strong, forceful and powerful” defender arrived in Spain earlier this week for a mandatory medical before putting pen on paper to complete the deal.
Zackaria, who was chased by local side Legon Cities, signed a season-long loan deal that comes with a permanent option.
In 2017, the centre-back had his debut in the Ghana Premier League with Berekum Chelsea, playing seven games.
Facing the next championship, Zackaria Fuseini had more continuity – participating in 14 games and registering a goal.
Before COVID-19 set in, the 22-year-old had scored twice in 15 appearances in the aborted 2019/20 Ghana Premier League for Berekum Chelsea.
This was on the back of a superb outing for Ghana at the 2019 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Egypt where the Black Meteors failed to secure a ticket to the Tokyo Olympic Games football tournament. He featured in all of Ghana’s five games at the tournament.
San Fernando CD compete in Group IV of the Segunda División B.
