UEL: Aubameyang scores in Arsenal comeback win

Gabon striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored an important winner as Arsenal rallied from behind to beat Rapid Wien 2-1 in the Europa League Thursday night.

The home side broke the deadlock in the 51st minute from Taxiarchis Fountas after a howler from Arsenal keeper Bernd Leno.

Arsenal fought back to equalize through a headed effort by Brazilian defender David Luiz in the 70th minute.

Ivorian winger, Nicolas Pepe swept in a free-kick with David Luiz rising above everybody to head home the equalizer for Arsenal.

Four minutes later, a sweet exchange in Rapid’s goal area saw Hector Bellerin lay a pass for Aubameyang to tap in an easy goal to win all three points in the Europa League group stage opener.

Ghana’s Thomas Partey was instrumental for Arsenal as he made his full debut with a 90-minute display.
