Talent is not enough: You need improved facilities, Avram Grant tells Ghana

Improved structures will help national teams achieve.

Former Black Stars coach, Avram Grant says Ghana’s government needs to ‘help a lot’ with improved football facilities to help players maximize their potentials.

In an interview with 3Sports, the experienced gaffer poured out his thoughts on how the country can develop in the game.

“In Ghana, there’s a lot of talent. But Ghana needs to understand that talent is not enough.

“You need a good education in football. You need facilities as well.

“All the things you find in Europe help the players to maximize their potential.

“The GFA might be doing their best but I think the government must also help a lot.

“I remember watching the U-17 and they had massive talent. Amazing talent.

“But you need to surround the player with everything they need to improve their potential.

Grant continued by using his time as coach of the Black Stars.

“When we came in 2015, we brought a physio from Chelsea, an assistant from Spain and one from England to cover all the important areas.

“I think they [Ghana] can achieve if they improve their facilities for all the teams.”
