Swedish Cup: Safiu scores to propel Trelleborgs into next round

Striker, Fatawu Safiu scored an important equalizer as Trelleborgs came from behind to beat Torns IF 3-2 after extra-time in the Swedish Cup on Wednesday.

Trelleborgs started the game with great urge which led to them scoring with just 7 minutes played from the boot of Christian Koehler.

The visitors held on to the 1-0 lead moving into half time at the Tornvallen.

Trelleborgs looked like running away with the slim lead until the full-time mark when Dino Mesic pulled level for Torns and sending the game into extra time.

Rebin Assad made the score 2-1 for Torn IF after 102 minutes of action.

Ghana’s Safiu was on hand to equalize for Trelleborgs six minutes after Assad had sent Torns ahead.

Mattias Haakansson rose to the occasion to score a late winner for Trelleborgs who will progress to the next stage.
