Steven Mukwala: Ugandan confirms talks with Kotoko

Striker Steven Desse Mukwala is in talks with Asante Kotoko over a potential switch in the transfer window.

Last season’s Ugandan Premier League top scorer is wanted by several Southern Africa clubs for his stellar performance before the league’s cancellation.

Mukwala scored 13 goals in 23 games for relegated Maroons FC before the campaign was halted in mid-March due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Kotoko want the 20-year-old as they beef up their squad for the Caf Champions League and the Ghana Premier League next season.

“For now, I can’t say much because we are still negotiating.

“We haven’t finished the deal yet. We are in talks and I hope for the best,” Mukwala told Oyerepa FM.

If negotiations go well for the Porcupine Warriors, the striker will be expected in Ghana next week to complete his move.

Currently, Kotoko have Emmanuel Keyekeh, Yussif Mubarik and Patrick Asmah as their new signings.
