Official: Latif Anabila signs three years with Kotoko

Midfielder Abdul Latif Anabila has completed a three-year free-agent switch to Asante Kotoko.

On Friday, the 23-year-old travelled to Kumasi and underwent a mandatory medical examination at the Komfo Anoky Teaching Hospital (KATH) and came out unscathed, paving way for him to seal the well-speculated deal.

And on Saturday morning, the Porcupine Warriors have welcomed his arrival to the club:

Anabila started out in the Ghana Premier League with New Edubiase United before joining Tunisian side Club Africain in summer 2017.

He, however, returned to Ghana after one season to sign a two-year deal with AshantiGold in February 2018. During his stay, Anabila became one of the influential players in the Miners set-up and even captained the side at a point.

Anabila was a member of the AshantiGold squad which was eliminated early by RS Berkane in the about-to-end 2019/20 Caf Confederation Cup campaign.

But he rejected an offer to extend his stay after his contract expired a couple of months ago, allowing the Porcupines who have long admired his qualities to move in to sign him.

Latif Anabila becomes the fifth signing by the new Kotoko leadership after Emmanuel Keyekeh, Yusif Mubarick, Patrick Asmah and Razak Abalora.
