Hearts of Oak have appointed former St. George FC of Ethiopia head coach Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto as Technical Director.
The 46-year-old is a Portuguese national.
Vaz Pinto comes with some experience in Africa having had stints not only with St. George but also spells at Angolan clubs Recreativo do Libolo and Recreativo da Caala.
He managed to guide his first Angolan side Libolo to the Caf Confederations Cup group stage, finishing third behind eventual quarterfinalists D.R. Congo giants TP Mazembe and Sudanese side Al Hilal Obied.

Most recently, Vaz Pinto was coach of the U-23 side of FC Famalicão between September 2019 and June 2020 and played 26 matches.
Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto becomes the second Portuguese trainer after Sergio Traguil to have joined Hearts of Oak. Traguil took charge of the Phobians in 2016 but was sacked before the season ended.
