Hearts is winning the 2020/21 GPL – Odoom declares
The Phobians trainer has declared his side's league title ambition.
Hearts of Oak head coach, Edward Nii Odoom has declared that the Phobians will be playing for the title when the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) kicks off.
The 19-time Ghanaian champions have failed to win the league title for over a decade now.
Odoom – who recently lost some key players including influential forward Joseph Esso and facing the potential exit of striker Kofi Kordzi – is happy with his current squad and assuring the upcoming campaign will be a successful one.
Returning to training this week following the lifting of the ban on contact sports, Odoom told Hearts media:
“We are promising that this year will be a very good year for Phobia fans.
“The boys are very determined and their attitude towards training has been perfect.
“Hearts of Oak will win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League and break the jinx that has eluded us for the past ten years.”
Before COVID-19 set in over 6 months ago, Hearts were 9th on the cancelled 2019/20 league log heading to the halfway stage.
Hearts had made new squad additions with Abednego Tetteh, Abdourahamane Mamane Lawali, Isaac Mensah, Eric Dizan, Danjuma Kuti and Nuru Suley returning to the club.
The 2020/21 Ghana Premier League is scheduled to get underway Friday, November 13.
