Tariq Lamptey focused on Brighton career amid Black Stars calls

Brighton defender, Tariq Kwame Nii-Lante Lamptey is focused on his blistering form in the Premier League as Ghana awaits his decision whether to play for England or the Black Stars.

After a bright start to life in the league, Tariq has attracted interest from Ghana’s handlers and is yet to make his mind whether to play for the four-time African champions.

Amidst heightened Ghana vs England talks, Tariq is not making a decision yet concerning his international career.

“At the moment, I’m just focused on Brighton and playing as many games as possible.

“Keep training as hard as possible, keep playing well and keep a consistent level,” Tariq told the team’s media.

“What happens in the future on the international side, we’ll have to wait and see.

“Also, I look forward to the next game which is Man United and keep playing as well as possible. Whatever comes next, we’ll see.” he said.

Tariq, born to Ghanaian parents in the United Kingdom, has been in stupendous form for his club and it will be interesting to see him play for the Black Stars.

Head coach Charles Akonnor named his squad for the team’s international friendly against Mali.

Zilina FC defender Benson Anang and Yakubu Mohammed of Azam FC are the two right-backs in the squad.
