Ghana midfielder, Yussif Raman Chibsah has signed for VfL Bochum 1848 in the German second-tier.

Chibsah, who left Turkish Süper Lig club Gaziantep FK at the end of the 2019/20 season, signed a two-year contract which will end June 30, 2022.

“In Raman Chibsah we are gaining a midfielder who is mainly in the head office, who is also a sure-footed player and strong in tackling.

“He has international experience, is dynamic and, due to his past, in Italy had good tactical training,” VfL Bochum’s Sports Director Sebastian Schindzielorz said.

Raman Chibsah himself is “very, very happy that I was able to join VfL Bochum. The people in charge have convinced me of VfL. Now, I want to get to know my new teammates as soon as possible.”

The twice-capped Black Stars player’s career started at Bechem United. In 2009 and at the age of 16, he moved to Italy and first signed for US Sassuolo Calcio. Later, he went through the U-19 at Juventus Turin.

Chibsah returned to Sassuolo via FC Parma, and in 2013 he was promoted to Serie A for the first time. He also played in Italy’s top league with other clubs like Benevento Calcio and Frosinone Calcio.

Last season, he left Italian football for the first time in about a decade by signing for Gaziantep and managed 24 appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig.
