Philip Sackey: I can’t wait to see Great Olympics fans

Accra Great Olympics defender, Philip Sackey is overjoyed by the return of football, following the decision of the Government of Ghana to lift the ban on contact sports after six months.

President Akufo-Addo in his 17th nation address on the impact and control of COVID-19 announced that Premier League and Division One football will resume on October 30 with 25% fan attendance.

Sackey, who was a key member in Great Olympics campaign in the cancelled 2019/20 Ghana Premier League, says he misses the club’s fans.

“I’m very happy football is back because for seven months now we have not been active.”

“Our source of livelihood was at stake so I’m very happy football is back.”

“Moreover I miss the fans so much and can’t wait to see them. Oly Dade!,” Sackey told Adamu Muftawu.

Great Olympics started last season’s campaign on a jerky note but came out of their shells to produce some good performances.

They placed 10th with 20 points after the first round of matches and Sackey is confident they will make an impact next term.

“I know Great Olympics will make an impact in the coming season.

“Even the cancelled league, we made an impact. I’m very hopeful we will make more impact this time around,” Sackey noted.
