Kwabena Owusu scores in Qarabag 4-goal stalemate

Ghana forward Kwabena Owusu was among the scorers as Qarabag FK came from two goals down to hold league leaders Sumqayit PFC to a 2-2 draw in the Azerbaijani topflight on Friday.

A cagey encounter saw both sides testing each other’s goal area but failed to register a goal in the first half.

Both sides returned from recess chasing an early second half goal and that came within 7  minutes when Sumqayit netted the opener through Ali Ghorbani.

Two minutes after, Dzhamaldin Khodzhaniyazov doubled the lead to further unsettle Qarabag.

Kwabena Owusu, however, came out of his shell to pull a goal for his side on the 58th minute to give Qarabag a glimmer of hope.

Qarabag then pulled level just on the full time mark from the boot of Filip Ozobic.

Owusu has scored two goals in four matches in the domestic league.

Qarabag have 5 points from 4 matches, lying 4th on the league table.
