I will not struggle to settle in the MLS – Samuel Tetteh

Samuel Tetteh is confident of adjusting to the style of the Major League Soccer (MLS).

The Ghana forward will soon join his teammates at New York Red Bull after signing a six-month loan deal with an option for extension.

Tetteh has spent most of his playing time on loan at Austrian side LASK Linz with a few minutes at parent club Red Bull Salzburg.

The 24-year-old is hopeful of settling quickly in his new environment.

“It is a different place, a different league and it will be tough.

“But as a player I have to quickly adjust to face any challenge that comes.

“Surely I’m ready for the challenge because their style of play is similar to Red Bull Austria and that will help me adjust.

“It will be much easier to settle in the team and I also have to study the league and prepare myself for the task and I know with time and hard work I will excel.”

The former WAFA man admits that the decision to move from Europe to the United States was tough.

Tetteh, who admitted having numerous offers from Europe, says he had to seek advice before the final decision.

“It wasn’t an easy decision for me to go to USA; it was tough.

“But then I had discussions with the coach and Red Bulls head of sports.

“What they said to me concerning the vision of the club was a big factor in me choosing to play for them.

“I had a lot of offers from Europe but I needed a new challenge to establish my name differently and that is the reason I chose to play in the MLS.”

Samuel Tetteh, last season, played on loan at Austrian Bundesliga side, LASK Linz where he scored 7 goals with 5 assists in 29 matches.
