Danish clubs on alert as Dauda finishes Esbjerg loan spell

Ghana’s Dauda Mohammed has completed his season-long loan with Danish side Esbjerg fB.

The club, on Thursday, named the 22-year-old striker among eight players exiting following the completion of the 2019/20 Superliga, a campaign which saw them suffer relegation after enjoying topflight football for two straight seasons.

“We say goodbye to some good players and some good guys, and they have all made a professional effort for EfB.

“We wish them all the best in their career going forward,” read a statement by Esbjerg Sporting Director Jimmi Nagel Jacobsen.

Dauda joined Esbjerg from Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht in summer 2019.

The former Asante Kotoko player went on to score four and assisted once in 22 league appearances for the Blue Water Arena outfit during his stint.

What’s next for Dauda?

He reverts to Anderlecht who will be making a decision on his future soon. However, his agent has hinted the club will be ready to entertain offers for a permanent move or he may end up out on another loan spell.

“Anderlecht are open to dialogue. A new loan is possible, but also a final transfer.

“When the right price comes on the table, they would want to sell him.

“It’s not about millions. No numbers have been mentioned yet, but I think most Superliga clubs can handle it financially,” agent Jan Rasmussen is quoted as saying.

Danish clubs hunting

Rasmussen, speaking to Bold.dk, also disclosed that Dauda will be happy to continue his stay in Denmark, adding that he has even courted interests from some top-tier clubs.

“Two or three clubs have expressed [interests],” the agent revealed.

“Dauda feels that he can develop well in Denmark The tactical level is good. He learned a lot, especially under coach Troels Bech.

“Dauda also likes the country and Danish culture. He would like to stay here. Two or three clubs have inquired, but there is still nothing concrete,” Jan Rasmussen added.

Meanwhile, Dauda Mohammed has a year left on his Anderlecht contract. He has been out on two separate loan spells (the first with Vitesse Arnhem in 2018/19) since joining the former Jupiler Pro League champions from Asante Kotoko in January 2017.
