Nana Yaw Amponsah: Potential Kotoko CEO presents ‘5-year progression plan’ to club’s board

A former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidential aspirant, Nana Yaw Amponsah appears in pole position to land the vacant Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position at local giants Asante Kotoko.

Nana Yaw Amponsah, who was once a Fifa Intermediary, has in recent weeks, been linked to the Porcupine Warriors whose new 9-member Board of Directors appear to have chosen to headhunt for a new CEO to implement their policies.

On Tuesday, Mr. Amponsah – whose name has strongly come up alongside that of Kojo Addae-Mensah, a staunch supporter of Kotoko – was given the audience at the club’s board meeting held in Accra where he presumably presented his vision as CEO.

Nana Yaw Amponsah presented a 33-page document to be implemented over a five-year period.

The document titled “Asante Kotoko Sporting Club Limited 5-yr Progression Plan” touches on the kind of organogram he anticipates, the committees to work with, his mandate, the acquisition of a player development software and kit sponsorship.

It also entails drives like a Fabulous 1m Census Project (to establish the true support base of the club), Kotoko Academy Complex (which will cost GH¢10m), a Fabulous Wall of Fame (expected to generate GH¢20m in revenue), Kotoko Museum (estimated to cost GH¢1m), Kotoko Sports Medicine Clinic, as well as a Fabulous Gym and Wellness Spa.

Nana Yaw Amponsah’s document also detailed revenue generation sources for the club namely gate proceeds, raffle draw, player transfer, sponsorship, merchandising and franchising and donations revenue projections.

The young football administrator also spells out an estimated budget per year for Asante Kotoko in the document obtained by www.footy-ghana.com below:
