Berekum Chelsea’s Zackaria Fuseini names Ivorian Dao as his toughest opponent

Berekum Chelsea defender, Zackaria Fuseini has named Ivorian striker Youssouf Dao as the toughest opponent he has faced at international level.

Fuseini was the main man in central defence when Ghana lost out on a slot for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

“So far the toughest striker I have faced in my international career is one Ivorian striker, Yousouf Dao.

“He gave me a tough time when Ghana played Ivory Coast in the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt for a place in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He was extremely good and very difficult to put under control.

“I will say he is the toughest I have faced in my international career,” Zakaria Fuseini told Adamu Muftawu.

Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo were dashed after losing to Côte d’Ivoire in the semifinals of the 2019 U-23 Afcon.

The Black Meteors were held to a 2-2 draw with Zackaria Fuseini’s tormentor, Youssouf Dao, scoring twice with Yaw Yeboah and Evans Mensah scoring for Ghana. The game went into penalty shootouts after extra time with Ghana losing 2-3 to Côte d’Ivoire.

22-year-old Youssouf Dao is currently a player for Czech club Sparta Prague but spent time on loan at Vlasim. He started his domestic career at AFAD Djékanou before moving to Asec Mimosas.
