Oti Akenteng: Outgone GFA Technical Director recommends replacement

Outgone Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Francis Oti Akenteng has recommended Denmark-based Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as his successor.

Oti Akenteng served as the head of the GFA Technical Directorate from March 2006 to March 31, 2020.

According to the Fifa/Caf instructor, the former Asante Kotoko trainer – who currently works with FC Nordsjaelland – has enormous experience and qualities to succeed him.

Oti Akenteng told Accra-based Angel FM that he does not support the hiring of an expatriate for the vacant role since some indigenous coaches possess the required qualification.

“Didi Dramani is the man on top of my succession list and I believe he is best suited for the job.”

Dramani has vast experience, having led the Black Maidens to a third-place finish in the 2012 Fifa U-17 Women’s World Cup at Azerbaijan.

He also coached Asante Kotoko to win their first domestic double – Ghana Premier League and FA Cup in 2014.

So far only coach Bashir Hayford has publicly expressed his readiness to take over the job.

The GFA, early last month, advertised the search of a new Technical Director. The federation has since closed applications.
