Hearts intend to win 2019/20 MTN FA Cup – Nii Odoom

Acting Hearts of Oak head coach, Edward Nii Odoom says his side target winning the 2019/20 MTN FA Cup after guiding them through to the last-32 round of the competition.

The Phobians dispatched Division One side Danbort FC 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Round of 64 on Sunday thanks to goals from Frederick Ansah Botchway and Joseph Esso.

Reflecting on the Danbort encounter, coach Nii Odoom told Hearts Media: “This was an important win for the side as we aim to go very far in this competition, and, we intend to win it with all the hard work we have been doing in training.

“We will continue to work on all fronts as we aim to achieve the ultimate with every game in the competition been seen like a final for any side that will face Hearts.”

There were some huge surprises in the games played over the weekend with topflight sides like Asante Kotoko, Aduana Stars, Karela United United, Ebusua Dwarfs, Inter Allies, Berekum Chelsea and Ebusua Dwarfs all being knocked out of the competition.

The nine-time FA Cup winners will know their next opponents when the Round of 32 draw is held next Wednesday, March 4.
