2019/20 GPL: Wonders stun ‘Wonder Club’ in Accra

Techiman Eleven Wonders clinched a stunning 2-1 win away to Great Olympics on match-day nine of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League Sunday afternoon.

Olympics brimmed with confidence as they returned home to the Accra Sports Stadium on the back of a road victory in midweek over King Faisal.

But things turned upside down quite early for the Wonder Club.

Right on 13 minutes of play, the visitors hammered in the opener through Musa Sule.

Olympics kept their cool and after a spell of exchanges, midfielder Gladson Awako restored parity in the 25th minute – his 3rd goal in the ongoing campaign.

But Eleven Wonders went ahead to score again six minutes later. This time, it was through Salifu Ibrahim whose goal would later secure all three points for the away side.

Salifu’s performance for Wonders also earned him the NASCO man-of-the-match award.

The win moves Ignatius Osei-Fosu’s Eleven Wonders up to 14th in the standings, same points as Great Olympics who place just above them.
