The contract termination comes few days after head coach Ernst Middendorp revealed his side’s desire to offload fringe players in pursuit of game-time elsewhere in the South African league.
“We will always respect everyone if there is a situation that a player wants to change in order to get minutes, and he sees that he can get it in another PSL team.”
“These discussions are always there and we always respect it, but we also have to look into whether we have enough balance with other players being in the squad; can we agree about it or not.”
James Kotei joined the Soweto giants from Tanzanian outfit Simba SC but Chiefs fans only got a glimpse of the player during the Macufe Cup loss to Bloemfontein Celtic in October 2019.
