Hearts coaching job not beyond me at all – Nii Odoom

Interim Hearts of Oak coach, Edward Nii Odoom has insisted that he is surely capable of overturning the club’s dwindling on-pitch fortunes.

Nii Odoom supervised the Phobians 3-0 defeat at the hands of Medeama on match-day two of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League at the Akoon Community Parkin Tarkwa Sunday afternoon.

The defeat condemned the Phobians to a precarious 17th position on the 18-club league log, having lost 1-0 to Berekum Chelsea in the opener last Sunday in Accra.

But the defiant interim boss wants to take full charge as head of the technical team.

”I have coached in Ghana for 30 years. I have handled different teams like Real Sportive and many others.

“This Hearts of Oak job is not beyond me at all. I am capable of doing the work well,” Nii Odoom told reporters after Sunday’s humiliation by Medeama.

Edward Nii Odoom was appointed a caretaker trainer after the Director of Football and head coach of the side Kim Grant was relieved of his post.

Hearts of Oak next play hosts to fellow strugglers Ebusua Dwarfs at the Accra Sports Stadium on match-day three.
