Free-agent Kissi Boateng returns to Berekum Chelsea

Berekum Chelsea have announced the return of defender Richard Kissi Boateng to the club.

The Bibires took to their official social media handles to welcome the left-back on Monday:

Kissi Boateng played for Berekum Chelsea between 2011 and 2013 before embarking on a big-money move to DR Congo giants TP Mazembe. He enjoyed a successful four-year stint with the Ravens but was allowed to leave at the end of his contract.

The 31-year-old returned home in 2017 for a brief stint with another former club – Liberty Professionals – before getting whisked away by South African topflight side SuperSport United.

Kissi Boateng has been without a club since leaving SuperSport at the end of the 2018/19 season.

He fills a needed space in the high-flying Berekum Chelsea side who started the season with one recognized left-back.

Berekum Chelsea are unbeaten in five games this season and sit atop the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League log with 13 points.
