Young coach, Abdulai Gazale is joining the backroom of new Asante Kotoko boss Maxwell Konadu as first assistant.
The ex-Gomoa Feteh Feyenoord (now WAFA SC) player’s impending job with the Porcupines is upon the express request of Konadu who re-joined the club on a two-year renewable contract on Monday.
Kotoko already have two assistant coaches – Johnson Smith and Akakpo Patron – both Caf License B holders and the new head coach has decided to keep them on his return.
“Currently nobody is leaving the technical team; we are all going to work together to achieve our targets. If we make wholesale changes, it means we are going to start slowly from scratch,” Konadu said.
He added: “I’m only adding one additional member and he is Abdulai Gazale who is based in Tamale. In terms of documentation, Gazale has the License A so automatically, he is ahead of everybody else in the technical team.”
Abdulai Gazale is one of the last batch of coaches to undergo the Caf License A course organized by the GFA in 2016.
Meanwhile, coach Maxwell Konadu is scheduled to be unveiled by Kotoko at the club’s Adako Jachie Training centre at 14:00 GMT Wednesday.
