GPL: Karela and coach Prosper Narteh part ways

Karela United have parted ways with Dr. Prosper Nartey, less than two months after engaging his services as head coach.

Nartey had been appointed following the departure of Johnson Smith to Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko.

But the 41-year-old Caf License A and Masters Degree in Physical Education holder has left the job.

“Yes, coach Nartey is no longer with us. Few weeks after he joined us, we realized we couldn’t be compatible so we took time to make him understand the need to part ways and he agreed to the move,” a Karela executive, Lawrence Cudjoe confirmed.

“We did not submit his name as part of officials for the upcoming 2019/20 season. Hopefully, we will appoint a new head coach to handle the team before the Premier League starts this month,” he added.

Prosper Nartey, who is also a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, previously coached Ebusua Dwarfs.
