GSM/Pro Ball organize soccer camp in Accra

GSM in partnership with Pro Ball Management is organizing a 3-day scouting camp for football clubs at the Accra Sports Stadium.

18 clubs – 5 from the Ghana Premier League clubs, 11 from Division One and 2 from Nigeria are competing in the exercise which is supervised by 15 European scouts.

Each team is given three-match competition and players who excel have the opportunity to earn a professional contract abroad.

One of the scouts, Tommy Seohn, who works for Birmingham Legion in the USA, tells Starr Sports he is targeting about three talents from the exercise.

‘I have been coming to Ghana for the past 10 years and so I know the kind of talents they produce and I’m always amazed about fresh talents that pop up anytime I come to Ghana for scouting. The exercise is not over yet but what I have seen so far is highly impressive. Hoping to get 2-3 players for Birmingham Legion FC,” he stated.

Former Inter Allies attacker Kassim Prosper, who currently plays for Birmingham Legion FC, is among several Ghanaian players who have benefited from previous editions and has urged players participating in the scouting camp to be focused and work hard to be spotted.

‘’I was playing for Inter Allies and we always featured this tournament with scouts coming to Ghana from all over Europe. I was fortunate to be scouted to Sweden and now I am in America playing for Birmingham FC so this exercise is very good and you can only break through and be spotted if you are focused, determined and hardworking,’’ he told Starr Sports.
