Confirmed: Kotoko decline contract renewal for Boahene, two others

Asante Kotoko have confirmed refusal to exercise an option to renew the contract of midfielder Kwame Boahene.

The 26-year-old attacker joins experienced duo Jordan Opoku and Augustine Sefah as the players to suffer similar decision by the handlers of the Porcupines in recent weeks.

Boahene signed for Kotoko in December 2016 following consistent glittering performances in the Premier League for Medeama SC and Liberty Professionals.

The diminutive predator, however, struggled to exert his influence in the Kotoko team as he was largely sidelined by injuries.

Meanwhile, it is understood that Kotoko have frozen further exits from the club until a substantive head coach is appointed in the coming days. Some players like Mamadou Kouyate, Abass Mohammed and Martin Antwi who have more months on their respective contracts, had been prepared for mutual terminations.
