GFA Elections: Randy Abbey, Mark Addo and Anim Addo voted Division One ExCo reps

Alhaji Gruzah, Kweku Eyiah among big names to miss out.

Randy Abbey, Mark Addo and Samuel Anim Addo have been elected as Division One League representatives on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council.

Abbey, a former Ghana FA Communications Director, received the most votes – 26 – among nine candidates and seals a return to the position he vacated after the 2015 election.

Nzema Kotoko’s Mark Addo emerged second with an impressive 25 votes, one less than Randy Abbey.

Young and enterprising administrator Samuel Anim Addo also gatecrashed onto the 12-member Executive Council with 19 votes. The Young Apostles FC director, who also works as manager for Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan, beat off competition from some household names in Alhaji Gruzah and Kweku Eyiah.

Gideon Fosu, Barima Otuo Acheampong Boadaa, Justice Boison and Eric Oppong Yeboah all failed to secure a seat.

The 48 second-tier clubs are allotted three representatives on the next 12-member GFA Executive Council.
