U-23 AfconQ: Meteors ready to kick Algeria out – Yeboah

Black Meteors skipper, Yaw Yeboah has stated that the side is determined to beat Algeria to qualify for the upcoming Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Ghana host the North Africans at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of the final round of the qualifiers Friday.

“We are ready for the game. All the players invited into the team are ready to play and compete; it doesn’t matter who is coming from somewhere.

“Most of the foreign-based players are coming. The game is very important to us and we have to take our chances.

“We are going to work hard and get the goals. The target is to win both legs and qualify for the tournament,” Yeboah told the media.

The U-23 Afcon, which is slated for November 8-22, will also serve as a qualifying tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The top three teams will represent Africa.

Ghana last made appearance in 2004 at Athens.
