Thomas Agyepong makes loan move to Waasland-Beveren

Belgian top-tier side, Waasland-Beveren have secured the services of Ghana winger Thomas Agyepong from Manchester City.

The 22-year-old has been leased for the 2019/20 season with a permanent option.

“Waasland-Beveren have again added an attacking reinforcement to the team.

“Thomas Agyepong, 22, is loaned from the English superpower Manchester City.

“Waasland-Beveren also stipulated a purchase option on the Ghanaian flank attacker,” the club announced on their official website Monday.

He comes in as a direct replacement for compatriot Nana Owusu Ampomah who left for German Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf this summer.

Manchester City signed Agyepong in 2015 but have since been farming him out to Dutch sides FC Twente and NAC Breda and then Scottish side FC Hibernian just last season.

He was part of the Ghana squad at this 2019 Africa Cup of Nations but suffered an injury in the opening match against Benin which kept him out till the Black Stars suffered a round of 16 elimination.
