Caf CL: Pillars won’t shut up shop at Kotoko – coach Musa

Kano Pillars coach, Ibrahim Musa is confident his team is capable of beating Asante Kotoko anywhere hence won’t change his attacking philosophy when they visit the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Sai Masu Gida face the Porcupines with a 3-2 advantage from their 2019/20 Caf Champions League preliminary round first-leg clash in northern Nigeria.

“We are coming to Kumasi to shock Asante Kotoko at their home ground. Porcupine Warriors are doing extraordinary well in the continent and we admire them very much.

“We played good football at home and scored three but we conceded two set pieces goals and we are working on that aspect not to let in such goals in Kumasi,” Musa told Kumasi FM.

Jugunu, as he is fondly called by admirers, is drawing inspiration from their one-time upset caused African and Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

“In our first time in the Caf Confederation Cup, we reached semifinals stage by knocking out Al Ahly so we don’t fear any club on the continent. If we were able to do against Ahly in Egypt in past years, we can thrash Kotoko.

“We are in Kaduna preparing on natural grass because of the Kotoko pitch. We are not coming to defend or play delay tactics. We are coming for victory,” he added.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT.
